Cooperation with Pakistan against terrorism to continue: US
Online
WASHINGTON: The United States has reiterated that Pakistan had suffered the most due to the rising terrorist activities in the country.
Addressing the press, Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department Marie Harf said, “We’re still concerned about the terrorist threat in Pakistan, as is the Pakistani government, because, as I think I say every time we talk about this, it’s Pakistanis themselves that have been affected the most by terrorism inside Pakistan. And so we’ll keep working with the government on helping them build their capacity to go after these guys.”
Maria Harf also said that the US will continue to assist Pakistan in curbing terrorism. She said, “The Pakistani government understands it has a responsibility to work to protect its citizens. We’ll be a partner with them, certainly, on counterterrorism, but it’s not up to the US to fix counterterrorism problems all over the world. So we’ll keep working.”
