Time for government to make final decision: Shah

ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Khursheed Shah said the time had come for the government to think seriously and make a final decision.

Shah asked the government to explain the utility of talks following the killing of 23 FC personnel by the Mohmand Agency Taliban.

In a statement the opposition leader condemned the killing of FC personnel adding that the Taliban wanted to hold dialogue after making the government weak.

Shah said the government had stated that the Taliban would not conduct any attacks.

The Mohmand Agency claimed to have killed 23 FC personnel in their custody on Sunday. Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said the killings were retaliation for the custodial killings of their members by security forces.

In a statement, security forces dismissed the Taliban’s claim calling it propaganda to justify their killings.
