Strict security to be ensured for polio teams: DCO

RAWALPINDI: In a bid to make five-day polio campaign successful, strict security measures have been taken to avoid any untoward incident, said District Coordination Officer (DCO), Sajid Zafar Dal.
He said that 1408 teams have been constituted to vaccinate under five years children against the crippling diseases. During the campaign, 711,744 children would be vaccinated, he added.
Talking to media, DCO said that arrangements for the campaign have been finalized adding that all available resources would be utilized to make the campaigns a success. The teams also have been constituted that would cover bus stands, railway stations, markets and other public places, he added. The teams would also visit house to house to administer polio drops to the children.
The DCO said no negligence on part of officials would be tolerated during the campaign.
Religious scholars and parents have been urged to come forward and play their role to make the campaign a success.
