Pakistan protests killing of FC personnel in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday lodged a strong protest with the Afghan government over the killing of 23 FC personnel in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security, Sartaj Aziz recorded the protest with Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Zarar Maqbool Osmani in Maldives where the diplomats are attending the SAARC Ministerial Meeting.

Aziz said during a recent trilateral summit between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tukey a decision was taken to not allow the use of a country’s territory against another. He added if the territory was used that country would initiate action against militants.

Aziz demanded that Afghanistan take action against those terrorists responsible in the killing of FC personnel

On February 17, the Mohmand Agency Taliban executed 23 FC personnel in their custody since 2010. The Taliban said the brutal act was retaliation for the killing of their members during ongoing operations.
