Peace talks: Munawar asks govt to seek Afghan Taliban assistance
PESHAWR: Jamat e Islami Chief Munawar Hassan has advised the government to seek assistance of Afghan Taliban in the dialogue process with the Pakistani Taliban.
Addressing a ceremony here Sunday, Munawar Hassan asked the government to send a delegation to Mullah Umar for taking help from Afghan Taliban.
He said that military operation is not a solution to the militancy, which he said would displace millions of people.
The JI chief further said that one part of Pakistan become Bangladesh following the military operation.
Munawar urged the prime minister to come forward and summoned a meeting of the government’s and Taliban’s committee that are formed to hold dialogue.
Patriotic people should play their role in creating conducive atmosphere for the peace talks, he added.
