Imran urges banned TTP to announce ceasefire

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI)chairman, Imran Khan has claimed that there are over 50 groups operating under the umbrella of banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are ready to talk.

Talking to media outside the parliament house on Monday, the PTI chairman said that there is a deadlock in dialogue process, urging the Taliban leadership to announce ceasefire in a bid to secure peace process.

Reiterating his stance, Imran Khan said that the government should hold negotiations with the groups willing to talk. He asked the prime minister to lead dialogue.

The PTI chief said that there is 0.6 million population in Waziristan, adding that if women and children were killed in military strikes in lawless region then they would take stand against the state.

However, he advised the government to conduct surgical strikes against those elements which are causing damage to military and the people of Pakistan.
