Ministry to receive Hajj applications from March

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony is likely to start receiving Hajj applications from the second week of March, said an official of the ministry.
Talking to APP, he said the Hajj applications would be available at designated banks free of cost. The applicants would be required to submit their applications in same branches along with Hajj dues.
The banks may also receive applications in groups up to 25 Hujjaj through their group leaders, who would be responsible to lead and facilitate Hujjaj for their groups as per instructions issued by the ministry.
The intending pilgrims would be declared successful on first come first serve basis.
Any person, who has performed Hajj in last five years will not be eligible for performing Hajj 2014, barring few exceptions including an applicant proceeding as `Mehram’ of a lady, who has not performed Hajj earlier and she has no other Mehram. And applicant is performing Hajj-e-Badl provided the application is submitted within due date.
The new Hajj policy would be announced first week of March after approval of the federal cabinet.
