Over 318,000 children to be immunised against polio in Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has set the immunisation of 318,000 children as the target for the second phase of the anti-polio drive in the city.
The commissioner on Tuesday directed all deputy commissioners to personally supervise anti-polio campaigns in their jurisdictions. Presiding over a meeting with all deputy commissioners of Karachi at his office, Mr Siddiqui said that deputy commissioners should use all available resources to ensure the success of the anti-polio drive.
He said that 498,000 children had been immunized in the first phase of the anti-polio drive.
