ISLAMABAD: Civil Defence officials have rescued 368 Pakistani pilgrims from a fire that broke out at a hotel in Medina on Tuesday. Three people suffered burns in the incident, including one of the responding firefighters, Arab News reported. The fire raged across part of the fourth floor of a seven-story hotel and originated in two rooms, said Col Khaled Al-Johani, Medina Civil Defence spokesman. “Five rescue teams and five firefighting teams were sent to the hotel upon receiving a report at 12:15pm,” he said. Two patients have been discharged from hospital, while the third patient has been kept admitted for further observation. Residents were taken to safe locations. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, the official said.
