PIA needs one year for improvement: JAC
Airline resumes flight operations as workers end strike
KARACHI/LAHORE – PIA Employees Joint Action Committee Chairman Captain Sohail Baloch asserted that the airline would require whole one year for its improvement.
He said while talking to journalists at Lahore airport. Baloch – leading a delegation of the PIA employees – will call on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif today with hopes that the government will fulfill its promise by taking an appropriate action to ease their reservations. On this occasion, the JAC chairman came up with a proposal to hand the national flag carrier in care of Saad Rafique.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed its domestic and international flight operations after employees ended their two week long strike spurred by plans to privatise the national carrier. Pakistan's airports have been enmeshed in chaos nationwide since the strike kicked off that grounded international and domestic flights and left thousands of passengers stranded.
