Govt offers paramilitary troops to media houses
Media houses asked to build barracks for security staff in front, rooftops
ISLAMABAD – In a bid to improve overall security situation and avoid possible threat of attacks, the Ministry of Interior Affairs has offered media houses paramilitary forces for their security.
As per programme, the FC personnel would be deputed on the roof top of media houses equipped with machine guns. It was decided to depute the paramilitary troops for the security of media houses after calling back the personnel of police and FC from VIP protocol and duties.
The media houses would be bound to build barracks for security staff at their main entrance and rooftops of their buildings. The media houses would be provided the security of personnel of FC and police equipped with modern and stat-of-art arms on permanent basis to ensure fool proof security programme.

In a special meeting held here at the Central Police Office, the Inspector General of the Islamabad Police has directed all police officials to ensure elaborate security of media houses, educational institutions, shopping centers, markets and important buildings.
He directed for effective implementation of beat system and keep check and balance of the performance of teams performing security at various important places. He also directed for effective security arrangements of residential areas and other important buildings including educational institutions, media houses, shopping malls and markets.
He said that supervisory officers should monitor the security of their respective areas and keep check and balance on their subordinate staff. He said that police stations should have a proper look and polite behaviour should be adopted with complainants.
He also directed officials of the special branch to ensure coordination with other police wings and share information with them in time. He said that protection to the lives and property of citizens are at their tip priority and no sluggish attitude would be tolerated.
