No date yet for secretary-level talks: FO
Spokesman says dialogue only way to resolve all outstanding issues with India
ISLAMABAD – Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria on Thursday said that no date has been fixed yet for the foreign secretaries’ level talks between Pakistan and India.
“Dialogue is the only way to resolve all the outstanding issues with India,” the spokesperson said while talking to the weekly press briefing. He said that both the sides are in constant touch with each other at various levels to finalise date for talks.
According to the private TV channel – to a question – Nafees both the counties are also in contact regarding investigation into Pathankot terrorist incident. When asked about IB report on Daesh network, the spokesperson refused to comment on the issue, however, he said that there was no organized presence of Daesh (Islamic State) in Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan is consistently and constantly supporting all regional efforts against terrorism and extremism. He said that it was in this context that Islamabad has welcomed the 34-nation coalition against terrorism. The spokesperson said that the fourth meeting of Quadrilateral Coordination Group on Afghanistan will be held in Kabul on 23rd of this month.
