Pak-India Foreign Secretaries meeting soon: Indian HC

ISLAMABAD: Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Gautam Bambawale has said National Security Advisors (NSAs) of Pakistan and India are in constant contact to finalize meeting of foreign secretaries.

Addressing a ceremony organized by Indian High Commission in Islamabad Monday, Gautam Bambwale said he could not give a final date for the meeting of foreign secretaries at this stage, however, he added that it will take place as soon as the situation becomes favourable.

He went on to say that NSA of India and Pakistan are also in touch regarding investigation into Pathankot airbase attack.

Gautam ruled out Indian interference in the affairs of Pakistan and Afghanistan, terming both the countries as independent and sovereign states.

The Indian HC refused to comment on the statement over Siachen issued by Abdul Basit, the Pakistani High Commissioner to India.

He also stressed on promotion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Indian.
