Rangers deployed in Kotli after violence
KOTLI: The situation in Kotli has turned tense after a clash between the workers of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), that also claimed the life of a PPP worker. All the business centres, shops and markets have been closed to avoid any further mishap in the city. The local administration has deployed heavy contingents of police and Rangers to control the law and order situation. An emergency meeting of the PPP AJK chapter has been summoned for Tuesday (tomorrow) at the Zardari House. Faryal Talpoor is likely to chair the meeting, convened to discuss the situation arising out of the killing of a party worker in Nakyal. In Karachi, a protest demonstration was held outside the press club to condemn the killing of the PPP worker. “The policies of PML-N are a threat for democracy. PML-N is running the democratic government like dictatorship,” protesters at the rally said.
