SHC issues notices to DG Rangers, IGP in missing persons’ case
KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday issued notices to Director General Sindh Rangers, Inspector General Police and others in missing of over 70 persons.
Two-member bench headed by Justice Irfan Saadat was hearing the case of over 70 missing persons here Monday. The court sought progress report on March 07.
The court also fined investigating officer Ebadat Ali for non-recovery of missing citizen Shahzeb Ali.
The SHC, in its remarks, directed officials concerned to register the case in the respective police station from where citizens went missing.
Separately, the public prosecutor told the court that Minhaj Qazi, accused of murder of former MD KESC Shahid Hamid was in Rangers custody for 90 days.
The court allowed Minhaj Qazi’s mother for meeting with her son and disposed of the hearing of Qazi’s case.
