Govt ready to form JC over progress, role of FIA: Nisar
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar on Wednesday said the government is ready to constitute a judicial commission over the performance and role of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
On Tuesday, Asif Zardari, reacting to the criticism of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, had said that the FIA too was following in the footsteps of NAB.
“We are ready to form a judicial commission over the progress and role of FIA over the past two and a half years, if Asif Zardari so wants,” offered Chaudhry Nisar.
He said during his office term so far neither had he used FIA to fulfill a personal agenda nor a political or illegal one. Nor had he allowed any external pressure or interference to be entertained, he added.
