PIA, Shaheen Air planes escape midair crash
INP
GWADAR: Planes of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Shaheen Air narrowly escaped a midair crash near Gwadar on Thursday. Sources said the pilot of the private airline allegedly violated the air traffic rules. Both planes came face to face when the pilot of the PIA plane gave a call to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The pilot of the Shaheen Air refused to follow the instructions given by the air traffic control and changed the frequency without any information. However, in time action of the PIA pilot averted the midair disaster. The CAA managing director has formed a committee to probe the incident.
