Corruption, nepotism real hurdles in progress: Pervez Musharraf
KARACHI: General (retd) Pervez Musharraf Saturday identified corruption and nepotism as real hurdles in the progress of the country.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Pervez Musharraf advised against dividing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into Eastern and Western routes and making it controversial.
When asked to comment on the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrants for him by a local court in Ghazi Abdul Rasheed murder case, Musharraf chuckled and said let the things remain as they are. “Let’s see what happens.”

To a question pertaining to the criticism of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) by the politicians, he said NAB is a 15-year old institution, adding, instead of setting up a new body the old ones should be reformed and strengthened.
The former president stressed on directing attention to the present issues by putting behind the ones relating to the past for a ‘better future of Pakistan’.
