No intention to clip any institution’s wings: Pervaiz Rashid
TAXILA: Federal Minister for Information, Senator Pervaiz Rashid Sunday reiterated that the government has no intention to clip any institution’s wings but in case someone’s nails grow in size they have to be filed.
“Besides NAB, the Prime Minister also took names of other institutions. Government’s reservations are not confined to any specific institution,” the Information Minister said while talking to media persons here on the occasion of Orange Festival.
He said this is democracy and Prime Minister made the statement in public. On the contrary, he added, decisions are made behind closed doors in dictatorship.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan keeps backing away from his statements. “First he (Imran Khan) called the Chairman NAB a ‘Muk Mukka Chairman’ and now he is expressing sympathies for the same person,” he added.
Pervaiz Rashid said never before in the history of Pakistan so many projects were completed in a period of just two-and-a-half years.
He said the PTI’s sit-ins affected ‘the rate of our progress and that’s why we regret that some works could not be finished on time’. Imran Khan’s sit-ins did nothing apart from wasting time, he added.
Pervaiz Rashid said no sooner than the government inked the agreement with Qatar for LNG import, unnecessary criticism began against the deal.
