Dr Asim’s counsel says Chairman NAB should step down
KARACHI: Counsel of former advisor petroleum, Dr Asim Hussain on Monday said that Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been trying to save his own skin and that a new reference is now being prepared against Dr Asim.
Talking to media persons after attending the hearing for Dr Asim Hussain’s case at an accountability court here, Anwar Mansoor said according to the investigation officer the investigation has been completed.
He said now there is no justification for keeping Dr Asim Hussain in custody anymore.
Anwar Mansoor said since Chairman NAB is himself involved directly in the NLC case, he had better step down and face the charges.
He alleged that NAB is being used to achieve political objectives and that Dr Asim’s personal staff is being threatened. “Dr Asim’s personal assistant Shakil was picked up on Friday and released this morning,” he added.
