Gas loadshedding will end by 2018: Shahid Khaqan

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Petroleum, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Thursday said the government will continue to give relief in the prices of petroleum products and announced that gas loadshedding will end by 2018.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion of a conference on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the government will continue to give relief in POL prices as long as international prices remain on the decline.

“No other country has reduced the prices of petroleum products as much as Pakistan did,” the petroleum minister claimed.

He said the previous governments did not take any measures to overcome gas crisis in the country.

In connection with the ongoing investigation against Dr Asim Hussain, he said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has not conducted any raid at the Ministry of Petroleum. However, he said if the NAB sought any records on this, the ministry would furnish the same.
