‘Strong’ message sent to India: FM

Shah-MahmoodForeign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Wednesday said Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent a ‘strong message’ to the Indian leadership in response to their threatening statements following the Pulwama attack in Held Kashmir.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Pakistan International Airline’s flight from Multan to Sharjah at Multan Airport, the foreign minister said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has chalked out an integrated strategy to enable national institutions to stand on their own feet. He said the government will also restore the national identity of the PIA. He said the present government is very keen to see PIA rising again and is ready to extend full support for its revival.

The PIA has started twice-a-week flights from Multan to Sharjah. The inaugural flight PK 293 carrying 166 passengers departed from Multan on Wednesday. Federal Minister for Privatization and Aviation Muhammad Mian Soomro, President and CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik and officials of CAA were also present at the launch ceremony.
