Cold wave continue to disrupt life
ISLAMABAD: The upper parts of the country were in the grip of foggy conditions as the traffic on the motorway and other highways was stopped due to non-visibility.However, the current rain/snowfall spell is likely to weaken today and upper parts of the country will again experience cold weather in the coming two days, said an official of the met office.
The other parts of the country especially Balochistan and Sindh will also remain in the grip of severe cold wave during the next two days.
According to Met analysis, the westerly wave southwesterly winds with a cloud cover over upper parts are likely during next 24 to 48 hours.
The foggy conditions have affected the vehicular traffic in upper parts of the country. Dense fog over motorway sectors; Pindi Bhattian to Lahore, Lahore to Gujranwala and Swabi to Peshawar badly damaged the transport to and from up-country and the movement on the highways was blocked at many places due to invisibility.
Freezing spell in Balochistan:
Rain and snowfall is expected in Quetta Valley and other parts Saturday night as a system was fastly penetrating into the area from adjoining Iran.
Persisting dry cold spell reduced minimum (night) temperature to minus 10 Celsius. Water freezed in taps, streets, roads and drains causing difficulties for the people.
Multan also has forecast of dry weather with chances of mist in the morning for city and its suburbs during next 24 hours.
