Cold wave, thick fog grip parts of country; flights suspended
ISLAMABAD: Extreme fog has caused massive disturbance to traffic flow on roads and flight schedule in the federal capital besides upper parts of the country and interior Sindh, Geo News reported on Saturday.
The twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi were enveloped by thick fog. The traffic flow to the federal capital was suspended at Benazir International Airport as well.
Thick fog and severe cold have also disturbed routine life in some area of South Punjab. The worst hit areas are Multan, Bhawalpure, Bhawalnagar, Kahniwal, Chhiccha Watni, Jhang and others.
Severe cold wave and foggy weather have also disturbed normal routine life by hampering vehicular movement on roads besides causing inordinate delay in arrival and departure of flights.
In the interior of Sindh including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Chhimber and surrounding areas are in grip of severe cold and mist. Routine life has been badly affected by this.
According to Met Department, spell of fog and cold will continue for some more days in plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa besides upper parts of Sindh.
