BHC stays lease of Lasbella land to Arab sheikhs
QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court on Friday stayed the process of leasing out some 500 acres of land to Arab sheikhs in Lasbella and issued notices to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government of Balochistan in this regard.
Balochistan Assembly Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhotani had moved the court to challenge the leasing out of the land to Arab sheikhs by the authorities concerned.
In his statement through his consul, Bhotani had stated that the land belonged to the people of the area, but all steps of leasing were taken without consulting them, which amounts to the negation of the rights of the people defined by the constitution. app
