PM sets up committee for talks with political parties

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Thursday constituted a five-member committee to establish contact with the leadership of all political parties in parliament to obtain proposals for resolving national issues raised on the floor of both Houses. The members of the committee are Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Water and Power Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Law Minister Babar Awan, Petroleum Minister Naveed Qamar and Adviser to the PM Mian Raza Rabbani. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Muhammad Ishaq Dar contacted the PM and apprised him of the formation of the committee by his party chief Nawaz Sharif for dialogue on national issues. The PM assured him that both committees would soon meet to open up dialogue on national issues, including the economic challenges. Dar conveyed his desire to meet the representatives of the government soon to initiate discussions. app
