PM rings MQM, ANP chiefs, others


ISLAMABAD: In an attempt to bring down political temperature after reported targeted killing incidents involving activists of ANP and MQM in Karachi, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday phoned Altaf Hussain and Asfandyar Wali – chiefs of MQM and ANP parties, and discussed political issues particularly fragile law and order situation in metropolis, Geo News reported.

During the telephonic chatting, PM Gilani sought durable support from two key political parties working in Karachi, urging the duo to continue process of reconciliation despite deadly incidents of violence in the capital city of Sindh.

Moreover, PM Gilani phoned Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik and ordered the latter to immediately arrive in metropolis.

Also the premier advised Malik that the former be kept updated on Karachi situation.
