PM asks ANP, MQM to show tolerance


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Friday called Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain and the Awami National Party President Asfandyar Wali and asked them to appeal to their party workers and followers to show tolerance and patience. Gilani condemned the killings in Karachi and also called upon the people to exhibit tolerance. The PM also talked to Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Interior Minister Rehman Malik to chalk out a course of action to ensure law and order in Karachi. Gilani directed the interior minister to immediately go to Karachi and coordinate a strategy with the Sindh government as well as the MQM leadership. staff report.
