FIA gets custody of two police officials in BB’s murder case
RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday granted eight days physical remand of former city police officer (CPO) Saud Aziz and Rawal Town Superintendent of Police (SP) Khurram Shehzad in Benazir Bhutto’s murder case. Advocate Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) told the court that the five people, who supported the suicide bombers, are in the Adiala Jail and the investigations of the case will be completed after a thorough investigation of the two officials. The FIA advocate also presented Senior Superintendent of Police (SS) Yaseen Farooq’s confessional statement, which said that Benazir’s murder could have been avoided if proper security was put in place. Yaseen in his statement said that Aziz had intentionally decreased the security of Benazir on December 27, 2007 during her rally in Liaquat Bagh. staff report
