Interior minister not serious in restoring peace: ANP
LAHORE: Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh president, Shahi Syed, on Monday alleged that Interior Minister Rehman Malik is “not serious in solving the issues of Karachi over special dictation”, a private TV channel reported. In a statement issued from Karachi, Syed said that political reconciliation had become inevitable for restoring peace in Karachi, adding, “More people were killed in Karachi than in Swat and Malakand.” The government did not make public the intentions of the mastermind of the Bashir Jan murder case, Syed said. He added that ANP’s workers used to ask him why the interior minister does not come to the ANP. Meanwhile, Malik telephoned Syed twice on Monday and discussed Karachi’s situation. Malik said he was the ally of all political parties and he would “go to everyone for gaining (their) confidence”, the channel reported. daily times monitor
