No expectation of justice from CJ: Dogar counsel
ISLAMABAD: Nothing positive transpires in regard to the institution’s reputation when matters relating to judges are left for discussion by general people, said the counsel of former judge Abdul Hameed Dogar during proceeding of a case in connection with contempt of court notices to PCO judges.
A four-judge Supreme Court bench headed by Justice M. A. Siddiqui heard the case on Thursday.
Ibrahim Satti, counsel of former judge Abdul Hameed Dogar said: “One cannot expect justice from the present Chief Justice.”
He said whatever verdict the court reaches must not give the impression that it was made out of compulsion.
Dr. Basit, lawyer of former judges Shabbar Raza and Hasnat Ahmed in his arguments said the judges hearing this case are also ‘PCO judges’. He said the case was not earning a good to the institution of justice and the judiciary’s (reputation) graph is on the decline.
