Justice Sarmad Osmany nominated as SC judge
ISLAMABAD: Judicial Commission has nominated Chief Justice Sindh High Court (SHC) Sarmad Jalal Osmany as judge of the Supreme Court while Justice Musheer Alam would replace him as CJ provincial court, Geo News reported on Saturday.Newly constituted judicial commission under 19th Amendment, held its meeting under the chair of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary in the federal capital. The meeting was attended by four senior judges of the Supreme Court, federal law minister, attorney general, and members of the commission including a former judge and representative of Pakistan Bar Council.
The commission nominated Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany as apex court judge while Justice Mushir Alam of Sindh High Court (SHC) would be the provincial Chief Justice.
The issue of additional judges in the SHC has been postponed till next meeting.
The commission also reviewed issue of judges in Punjab.
