IMF to meet RGST opponents
LAHORE: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has decided to meet the political parties opposing the Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST), a private TV channel reported on Saturday. The delegation, led by Middle East and Central Asia Department Assistant Director Adnan Mazarei, is scheduled to visit Pakistan next week to discuss the imposition of the RGST and release of $11.3 billion to Pakistan. Besides meetings President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, the delegation would meet the leaders of the PML-N, MQM, ANP, and PML-Q, to allay their fears regarding the RGST, the channel reported. daily times monitor
