First ever horse & cattle show to be held in Karachi on Feb 7-8


KARACHI: The citizens of Karachi could visit and see the Horse & Cattle Show, being organised here first time in the history of Pakistan, on February 7-8, 2011 at Karachi Expo Centre.

The event would be part of livestock, dairy, fisheries and poultry seminar and exhibition being organised by the Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) to promote the potential of livestock, dairy and fisheries sector in the province.

The seminar/exhibition will showcase a comprehensive range of technical, business and financial information for the entire Sindh’s livestock, dairy and fisheries sector. Key foreign and local players in the entire value chain of the livestock, dairy, fisheries and poultry sector are expected to participate as exhibitors besides prominent businessman, prospective investors, diplomatic missions, multilateral agencies and academia.

The event aims to bring investors (local and foreign), buyers and consumers under one roof to discuss and share ideas to promote this sector. Investors and businessmen are being invited to discuss their experiences in these sectors and promote their products in a two-day exhibition.

All major actors in the public sector such as Livestock & Fisheries Department, Ministry of Food & Agriculture, Ministry of Livestock & Dairy Development, Board of Investment Pakistan, TDAP, SMEDA, Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority, district governments of Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Khairpur and Jaccobabad, academic institutions like Karachi University, Faisalabad University of Agriculture, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Agriculture University, Tandojam, major associations and chambers such as FPCCI, KCCI, agriculture chamber, Pakistan Poultry Association, Pakistan Fisheries Association, are partnering with SBI for organising the event. ppi
