Shahbaz announces Rs3m each for martyred policemen
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday announced rupees 3 million each for the families of the three martyred policemen who lost their lives in the Lohari Gate suicide attack."All educational expenses of the children of the martyred policemen would also be borne by the Punjab government", he said while talking to mediamen after the funeral prayers at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh.
Shahbaz lauded the bravery as well as vigilance of the Mujahid Force squad policemen who intercepted the terrorist at the first police checkpoint set up to ensure security of the devotees of Data Gunj Bakhsh and the participants of the Chehlum procession.
"It was due to stringent security measures of the law enforcement agencies that the routine activities continued at the Data Darbar till 01 am", he responded to media query.
