SC orders govt to review contractual appointments


ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has informed the apex court Thursday that contacts of former religious affair minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi have been provided with the accused Ahmed Faiz and Rao Shakeel in Hajj scandal, Geo News reported.

FIA revealed this during hearing of Hajj scandal case. Eight-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary was hearing the case.

The court directed the government to present the list of police officials promoted to OSD. The court also ordered for reviewing the appointments made on contractual basis.

Additional DG FIA told the court that Ahmed Faiz is in Saudi Arabia and yet to be arrested, adding that FIA team has been directed not to return till his arrest.

Attorney General informed that nine contract officers of grade 19 to 22 were working in police and FIA.

Chief justice, while seeking the list OSD police officers, remarked that youth should be given chance for good governance.
