President Zardari directs OGRA to review POL price hike


ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has stopped Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) from raising the prices of petroleum products, directing it to review its decision, Geo News reported Saturday.

Earlier, OGRA had decided to jack up prices of petroleum products on the New Year eve.

A notification was to be issued by OGRA shortly but the President stopped it from going ahead with its decision of raising the POL prices from January 1, 2012, sources said.

The sources added that the President directed OGRA to review its decision.
