Nawaz vows to bring ‘revolution’ in country
* PML-N chief says his party has prepared an agenda for change
* National institutions are on the verge of collapse
GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif pledged on Saturday that he will make Pakistan an economic power.
Speaking to a huge gathering of tens of thousands of people at a stadium in Gujranwala, Nawaz said he will not keep mum over increasing prices of gas and oil. “My team will bring revolution in Pakistan,” he said, and added that he will construct small dams and set up thermal power plants to overcome power crisis in the country. Nawaz said his party has prepared the agenda for change, adding that the opposition would not allow the government to increase the price of gas and petroleum. He said that the PML-N would bring revolution after coming into power once again to serve the people, and the people’s storm would inundate the “World Eleven”. He said that Gujranwala is the stronghold of PML-N and no one can crack it.
Speaking about shortages of essential utilities, the PML-N chief said neither gas nor electricity were available in the country. Unemployment, price-hike and energy crisis have made lives of the people miserable, he said, adding PIA, Railways and Steel Mill were on the verge of collapse while people are losing lives in suicide attacks. Pakistan, he said, has become lonely in the comity of nations, and corruption in the country has reached its pinnacle.
Nawaz said that the government is ignoring the orders of apex judiciary. He said PML-N would not sit quietly if the tariff of natural gas and electricity was enhanced. “The rulers have made the whole country a beggar. The soul of Quaid-e-Azam would be in agony by seeing today’s Pakistan,” he said. The PML-N chief said what happened in Abbottabad is unbearable for the people. “People should support PML-N and in return we will make Pakistan an economic power, making it stand on its own feet. We would make big dams and small water reservoirs, as resolving the energy crisis would be our top priority. No compromise would be made on the matters relating to national honour,” Nawaz said while announcing the party manifesto. He said that some elements have come in the field to misguide the young generation, adding that the PML-N is not only giving soft loans to the youths for starting their own business but also would provide 0.3 million laptops to the students. agencies
