By Abdul Khaliq Qureshi
ABBOTTABAD: Hazara Province Movement Committee (HPMC) leader Baba Haider Zaman and HPMC spokesman Dr Muhammad Azhar Khan Jadoon have thanked Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and the parliamentarians belonging to his party for floating the issue of Hazara province in parliament.
HPMC spokesman said that people of Hazara had sacrificed their lives for the cause Hazara province, adding that it was the duty of the elected representatives in the federal and the provincial assemblies to resolve the issue. He lamented that the leaders in the assemblies had done nothing in this regard. He said that Baba Haider Zaman, currently admitted in Ayub Hospital Complex (AHC), was rapidly recovering after hearing the good news of MQM’s support for Hazara province.
Jadoon said that creation of more provinces in the country was the need of the hour and would contribute to prosperity and solidarity of the country, adding that the people of Hazara were doing great efforts for this cause.
He said that Hazara division was a fertile region with forests, minerals, precious stones, and a great variety of natural resources, which could support its independent existence. Jadoon said that Hindko was a great language and deserved a status like Sindhi, Balochi, Pushto and Punjabi languages. He said that while the issue of Hazara province was fading, the MQM brought it back in parliament.
The HPMC spokesman said the population of the Hazara division was not less than one million; and the people of Hazara were demanding their right for the last three decades.
He said the leaders of the province ignored the voice of the Hazara people, and they did nothing for the province and the country. Jadoon said the MQM had played a very important role in raising the Hazara province issue and the people of Hazara will never forget this important contribution.
