Shahbaz apprises Turkish president of development projects

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his delegation called on Turkish President Abdullah Gull in Ankara on Wednesday and apprised the Turkish leader of the development on several projects ongoing between Punjab and Turkey.

The Turkish president expressed pleasure that the relations between Pakistan and Turkey had virtually turned into a pragmatic economic cooperation. He said that the involvement of Turkey in the Solid Waste Management Project in Lahore was a glaring example of the beginning of that project.

The Turkish president assured the visiting delegation that his country would continue to extend cooperation to Pakistan in every field. Shahbaz Sharif told the Turkish president that the financing of the southern phase of the Lahore Ring Road would soon be negotiated with the AXIM Bank of Turkey. He Gull’s visit to Lahore visit had played a vital role in the completion of ongoing projects between the Turkish government and Punjab. pr
