Power-hungry PML-N & PPP to join hands: ImranISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has predicted that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) may join hands, as both parties are on the quest to grab power. Imran was talking to the media at the launch of the Urdu version of his book ‘Pakistan; A Personal History.’ He said both PML-N and PPP have done nothing for the poor masses of the country, and their only goal was to sit in the power corridors. Imran said that he had been offered the slot of premiership several times in the past, and added that he refused because he was not interested in becoming the prime minister. “I don’t want power... my aim is to strive and secure the country,” he said. Talking about the new PTI entrants, Imran said that all those political heavyweights would have to work in accordance with the agenda of the party. About his public meetings, the PTI chief said that some political parties were making mockery of the innocent public by saying that agencies had forced them to participate in the PTI rallies. “It is beyond comprehension that how the people’s representatives could level such allegations against the public who are not demanding anything from these rulers... but are just seeking help to rid the country of the forces who have sabotaged peace and economy of Pakistan,” he said. Imran said a person who is afraid to lose could never succeed. “The parties who have announced rallies just to counter my tsunami also suffer from fear to lose,” he said. Imran believed that youth should get inspiration from the teachings of Allama Iqbal. He urged the people not to accept defeat at any cost, saying that he had been struggling to create awareness among the public for the last 15 years. “Now, the people will not allow ‘political families’ to return to power... the fate of Pakistan will now change,” he said. tanveer ahmed
