Pakistan committed to human rights conventions: Khokhar

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Human Rights Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, in a meeting with the Swedish ambassador, has said that Pakistan is committed to international conventions on human rights.
Ambassador of Sweden Lars-Hijalmar Wide and Sweden’s Special Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Niclas Trouve called on the adviser on Friday. He briefed the ambassador about Pakistan’s commitment to the international conventions such as Preparation of Universal Periodic Report (UPR), International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), Convention against Torture (CAT), Convention on Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), etc. Such commitments were essential for a better world, added the advisor.
