MQM to back govt resolution


KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) would support the resolution tabled by ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Friday, Geo News reported.

This was discussed in a meeting held at Governor House between Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad and Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

MQM Parliamentary leader Dr Farooq Sattar and deputy parliamentary leader Haider Abbas Rizvi also attended the meeting.

A resolution was moved in the National Assembly Friday reposing full confidence in the government.

The resolution was moved by ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan endorsed the support for the strengthening of the democratic set up in the country.

It said that for the furtherance and strengthening of democracy the trichotomy of power should be fully respected and adhered to, and all the state institutions must work within their constitutional ambit.
