PPP sabotaging democracy: Shahbaz

BERLIN: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Thursday said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was sabotaging democracy under the cover of the same, Geo News reported.

Talking to a German TV channel, PML-N leader alleged bad governance killed Pakistan’s economy.

To a query, an equivocal Shahbaz firmly vowed to quit as chief minister if proved guilty of corruption.

Commenting on the plight of the masses, he said the public at large was duly frustrated as “business was not as usual” anymore in Pakistan.

When asked, why West believed Pakistan was a threat to the world peace, he said it was only exaggeration at its worst, adding it wasn’t fair to see Pakistan only in the light of extremism/militancy.

"The West sleeps peacefully owing to Pakistan’s sacrifices", said Shahbaz.

Citing the basic teachings of Islam that stress amity, brotherhood, tolerance, and interfaith harmony, Shahbaz said Islam was religion of peace and not war.
