International Youth Day to be named after Arfa Karim
KARACHI: The International Youth Day this yearwould be named after youngest IT expert, late Arfa Karim.
This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs, SyedFaisal Subzwari.
He was speaking as chief guest here on Saturday at thecertificate distribution ceremony.
The six-day training programme for school and college studentswas held under the Youth Empowerment Space (YES) project.
The projects are taken up by the Sindh Youth Affairs Department in collaboration with the Habib University Foundation.
The Minister further pointed out that the Karachi IT Park has already been named after Arfa Karim on the directive of Quaid-i-Tehreek Altaf Hussain.
He said "our youngsters are very talented and capable and can excel provided they are given right type of training and guidance.
The Minister said that he has always encouraged youths and provided them with every possible opportunity to make headway.
He also recalled the projects initiated by his Department for the betterment and welfare of the youngsters.
Later, he gave away certificate to the students who participated in the course.
Director Youth Affairs, Khurshid Ali Shaikh, Ms. Yasmin Bano of YES Project, and Headmistress of Habib Girls School, Ms. Amir Ali, were also present at the ceremony. (APP)
