PTI to launch membership campaign
* Camps will be set up across country to get 10 million more members
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday announced that a membership campaign would be launched across the country from February 1 to March 23, to add 10 million more members to the party.
PTI Additional Secretary General Saifullah Khan Niazi, while addressing the organising committee at the party’s central secretariat, said the campaign would be conducted by organising tehsil-level workers’ conventions, which would be addressed by the party chairman.
Sharing the details of the proposed campaign, he said the dedicated and committed workers of the PTI would be mobilised to take the message of the party to every doorstep. “They will go door-to-door to achieve the target. We will set up membership camps and will use all sorts of social, print and electronic media to attract the masses. Change is inevitable and the people of Pakistan are looking towards honest and capable leadership of Imran Khan. They are fed up with the rotten political system that could not lessen their miseries and want to bring an end to the looting spree and plundering of the national wealth,” Niazi said.
The tehsil-level conventions, he explained, would help establish a direct contact between the top leadership and the grassroots workers, and formulate a comprehensive policy on national issues in consultation with party workers. Niazi was optimistic that the objective of organising the party at the union council level would be achieved within the given time. We will appoint block-organisers to ensure implementation of “One booth, ten youth” policy of the chairman to thwart any possible rigging in the next elections and provide the voters a conducive atmosphere to elect their representatives in a free environment, he added.
