Minhajul Quran invites PML-F, ANP to attend long march
* Shaikh says PML-F supports electoral reforms proposed by Qadri
KARACHI: A delegation of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran called on Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) General Secretary, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, on Monday.
The delegation was headed by General Secretary Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran Dr Raeeq Abbasi. Both the leaders agreed to holding of elections on time without any delay so that masses should get rid of what they called ‘present corrupt’ government. They demanded formation of impartial caretaker government on immediate basis. Talking to media after meeting, Imtiaz Shaikh criticised Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah’s statement in which he showed his helplessness over continued deaths of innocent children in upper Sindh due to measles. He also demanded his resignation. Shaikh said that Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran delegation had invited PML-F to join their long march, and a decision in this regard would be taken under Pir Pagaro’s advise.
He said that PML-F wanted fair and free elections under supervision of judiciary. He said that electoral reforms of Minhajul Quran were welcomed but it should not be cause of delay in holding of elections in the country. Senator Khuda Bakhsh, Mir Mohammed Khokar, Nusrat Saher Abbasi, Dr Taj, Shama Munshi, Nadim Mirza, Dr Hasan Raza, Qasim Soomro, Khizar Hayat Mangrio from PM-F were also present on the occasion. INP adds: A delegation of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran on Monday invited Awami National Party (ANP) to join long march on January 14.
The delegation met ANP Sindh president Shahi Syed at his residence in Karachi and invited him. During the meeting, the ANP senior leader said that the decision would be taken by the central leadership of the party. The leaders in the delegation said that the invitation of long march scheduled for January 14 had been given to MQM, ANP and other nationalist parties. Earlier this month, founder of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran gave a deadline of January 14 to government to form electoral reforms or else face a million men march towards the federal capital. staff report
