Nawaz says won’t let democracy derail
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz president Nawaz Sharif has said that democracy would not be allowed to derail, Geo News reported.
He said this while presiding over a party meeting at Model Town Lahore on Wednesday. Those who attended the meeting included among others Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Senator Pervez Rashid, Chaudhry Jaafar Iqbal, Ahsan Iqbal, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Khuwaja Saad Rafique.
Sources said Tahirul Qadri’s Jan 14 long-march and various aspects of party manifesto also came under discussion in the meeting.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Saad Rafique said that Tahirul Qadri’s march would not be stopped. However, he said it was worth wondering as to whose agenda Mr Qadri had brought in Pakistan.
