SC rejects Gilani’s review petition on disqualification
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has rejected former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani’s petition to review the ineligibility, terming it incomplete, Geo News reported on Wednesday.
Yusuf Raza Gilani had sent the petition to review the decision of his ineligibility via mail, which was disposed by Supreme Court, calling it incomplete and not filed within the prescribed period. Moreover, the security challan was also not paid along with the petition.
Gilani was dismissed from his position on 26 April 2012 after proven guilty with contempt of court. Aitzaz Ahsan was representing Gilani in the contempt of court case but Gilani filed the review petition in personal capacity.
