Miandad visa sparks controversy in India

New Delhi: India’s radical organization Shiv Sena and liberal ruling Congress are on the same page on not granting visa to Pakistan’s former legendary batsman Javed Miandad, sparking a new controversy in New Delhi as Pakistan India play 2nd ODI in Calcutta, Geo News reported Thursday.

According to reports, representatives of both the parties have opposed granting visa to Pakistan’s former captain for his family relationship with India’s underworld don Dawood Ibrahim whose daughter is married to Miandad’s son.

However, India has decided to issue a visa to Miandad.Miandad will travel to New Delhi where he will witness the last match of the three ODI series against Pakistan and India on January 6.

According to the Indian External Affairs Ministry, Miandad was being granted the visa because he was a high ranking official of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
